  1. I went to St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church yesterday and viewed St. Maria Goretti's glass casket containing her skeleton encased in wax. We as Catholics need a healing more than ever.

  3. This evening, ,my wife and I brought our four children (and another on the way!) to the Solemn Mass and veneration of the relics of the Great Martyr of Purity in Chantilly, VA. As we approached the shining reliquary, I felt a tremendous sense of the presence of God alive and present through his Saint as the reality of that horrific moment in the life of little St. Maria hit home. It was a powerful message of hope for me. Leading up to the veneration of her relics, I was presenting her with various intentions and apparently hopeless situations and events within myself, my family, the lives of relatives and friends, the Church, the United States, and the world. They may seem hopeless, but the presence of God in precisely those situations and events injects immense hope and peace into my heart. Nothing to fear for the love of Christ is victorious!

  4. Well thank you and thanks for posting the schedule! It was your site that provided us the details.

I was amazed to see 2-3 thousand people there. It was standing room only at Mass, including a couple hundred people outside the Church doors (St. Veronica in Chantilly, VA). By the end of Mass, when we began to venerate the Saint's relics, the organizers told us that so many more people had arrived that more than 1000 people were lined up outside!

Thank God for the overwhelming presence of such a vibrantly Catholic community converging on Northern Virginia! Such an awesome way to prepare for the Year of Mercy!
