I hope that your schedule will allow you to attend one of these masses and to venerate Saint Gianna's Second-Class Relics. Since most relics are kept under glass with a lock and key, this is a unique opportunity for everyone to actually touch and hold the relics as they venerate them.

DETAILS CONCERNING PRESENTATIONS OF THE SOCIETY OF SAINT GIANNA AT CHURCHES

When parishioners enter a church where a presentation is being given, they are handed an invitation with a Bible quote from Acts 19: 11-12 "So extraordinary were the mighty deeds God accomplished at the hands of Paul that when face cloths or aprons that touched his skin applied to the sick, their diseases left them and the evil sprits came out of them." We use this quote to show that the veneration of relics is truly founded in the words of God Himself.

After Holy Communion a representative from our society will give a ten minute talk on Saint Gianna’s life, and will tell of answered prayers through the intercession of Saint Gianna. (A copy of the talk can be requested for your Pastor to review.)

After the closing prayer, the faithful are invited to come forward to venerate the relics. Mr. Molla, Saint Gianna’s husband, who had given us the relics, stated that we could have them but requested that the faithful be permitted to physically pick up and touch the saint’s gloves. The Church has always sealed relics in glass, or a metal casing. You were not physically able to touch the relic. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Our society feels this is a great honor for all. We encourage the faithful to touch any religious articles that they may have with them to her gloves, such as rosaries, miraculous medals, crucifixes and wedding bands. We encourage families to hold hands and the gloves at the same time and to ask Saint Gianna to intercede for their families.

We give the faithful two prayer cards that have been touched to the gloves and a pamphlet. There have been many answered prayers through the faithful bringing the prayer cards to others. The pamphlets tell about Saint Gianna’s great sacrifice for her unborn child and the holy life that she led. She was the true face of the Catholic Church and exemplary model for families today. Her litany and novena are both inside the pamphlet. The relics, prayer cards and pamphlets are on portable stands with wheels so they can be easily moved. The stands are placed in front of the sanctuary for the veneration after Mass. We have donation boxes that are placed next to the stands. This is to help defray the cost of the presentation (prayer cards, pamphlets, etc...). Before the next Mass begins we roll the stands off to the side and out of the way.

If you would like to schedule a presentation at your parish, you must first obtain your Pastor’s permission. Once permission has been granted, or if your pastor needs further information, we need a contact person to communicate with. This alleviates the pastor of having to take time from his busy schedule to make arrangements. To start the process click on Presentations on the left side of our website’s menu, then click Request a Presentation. Fill out the form and click on submit.
