Relic Tour - Mexican Priests Martyrs

Currently in November, 2013, in the 4 Catholic Dioceses of Iowa, there is a tour of the relics of 6 Knights of Columbus Priest Martyrs of Mexico.

The relic pilgrimage seeks to make known in the United States the testimony of these Knights of Columbus priest martyrs and all those who sacrificed their lives for their faith during the time of religious persecution in Mexico.


The 6 priests were members of local Knights of Columbus councils in Mexico, and they are (left to right starting at the top):

St. Miguel de la Mora de la Mora: Council 2140 Zacatecas
St. Pedro de Jesus Maldonado Lucero: Council 2149 Chihuahua
St. Jose Ma. Robles Hurtado: Council 1979 Guadalajara
St. Rodrigo Aguilar Aleman: Council 2330 Cd. Guzman
St. Luis Batiz Sainz: Council 2367 Durango
St. Mateo Correa Magallanes: Council 2140 Zacatecas

They were canonized with 19 others martyrs of the Cristero War on May 21, 2000 by Blessed John Paul II.  None of them took arms against the government during the religious persecution.


In November 2013, the reliquary will visit the 4 dioceses of Iowa.
