St. Maria Goretti is flown back to Italy.
Plans for a 2016 tour of western half of USA are currently being studied. Check back on this page for updates as they become available.
I went to St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church yesterday and viewed St. Maria Goretti's glass casket containing her skeleton encased in wax. We as Catholics need a healing more than ever.
ReplyDeleteYour words are moving to me Mark...so glad you were able to do that...yes we do need a healing more than ever...
ReplyDeleteThis evening, ,my wife and I brought our four children (and another on the way!) to the Solemn Mass and veneration of the relics of the Great Martyr of Purity in Chantilly, VA. As we approached the shining reliquary, I felt a tremendous sense of the presence of God alive and present through his Saint as the reality of that horrific moment in the life of little St. Maria hit home. It was a powerful message of hope for me. Leading up to the veneration of her relics, I was presenting her with various intentions and apparently hopeless situations and events within myself, my family, the lives of relatives and friends, the Church, the United States, and the world. They may seem hopeless, but the presence of God in precisely those situations and events injects immense hope and peace into my heart. Nothing to fear for the love of Christ is victorious!
ReplyDeleteDear Stephen,
DeleteThank you for sharing your wonderful experience!!!
I get chills hearing of this!

DeleteWell thank you and thanks for posting the schedule! It was your site that provided us the details.
ReplyDeleteI was amazed to see 2-3 thousand people there. It was standing room only at Mass, including a couple hundred people outside the Church doors (St. Veronica in Chantilly, VA). By the end of Mass, when we began to venerate the Saint's relics, the organizers told us that so many more people had arrived that more than 1000 people were lined up outside!
Thank God for the overwhelming presence of such a vibrantly Catholic community converging on Northern Virginia! Such an awesome way to prepare for the Year of Mercy!
Stephen,
ReplyDeleteSo happy that this blog helped you! It encourages me to continue to research and post any and all upcoming relic veneration opportunities in the US.
Amazing to hear of such a vibrant Catholic community in Virginia! Thousands of people!!! Saint Maria is an awesome saint!!
